On clarifying an authentic professional path
My manager asked me repetitively to present who I am, leaving me with an uncomfortable feeling since I could not really describe myself concisely. However, the exercises in this course allowed me to paint a clear picture of myBrand to my manager. This deepened the understanding of my manager as to who I am, what I value, what I can bring to the table, and as to which career path may suit me best. Overall, applying learnings from the myBrand section helped me directly in my current job, within one day of following this workshop.

On daring to follow dreams
In 2022, I had a 1-1 training with Marina, which was inspiring and fun. Writing a narrative, defining our goals, and encouraging ourselves to pursue our dreams were the main takeaways I took from this course...
I also shared a personal story with Marina about a painting of a Black Panther, given to me by my best friend when I gave birth to my son. It symbolized my inner strength and artistic dreams, like opening a Tango school and hosting a festival.
In the summer of 2023, I launched TanGogh, an international Tango Festival in the Netherlands, using my business and networking skills. In June 2024, I also opened Milonga Casa de la Pantera, my long-dreamed Tango school and monthly salon, which has been running successfully.
Soon, I will launch my own company encompassing all my dance activities alongside my full-time job, overcoming my worries about balancing artistic dreams with a successful tech career, and making my dreams come true. Now I am more confident and satisfied with both trajectories as they are complementary, both technology and dance as an art form inspire and motivate me. Marina encouraged me a lot and I will always be grateful for the sincere support and motivation she provided for my journey.

SELF-REFLECTION & CONFIDENCE
❝ The biggest area of self-reflection was in the 1-minute-pitch component, where my initial pitch was very much focused on my professional ambitions, but now I have incorporated a more personal and humorous component to it, which I believe reflects my personality much better. Furthermore, the perspective of Marina on our individual strengths and weaknesses was very refreshing, and made me view myself and my abilities in a different light through which I hadn't considered them before. It made me much more confident in the 'added value' of my opinion to others.
❝ Self reflection led to two tangible outputs. First, it helped me to come up with a better pitch of myself: What do I want? What am I good at? Answering these questions and delivering a short pitch about what I could add to an organization was incredibly useful. Second, I "translated" this pitch to my updated LinkedIn profile.
HOLISTIC STORY & ENGAGING SHARING
❝ The inter-linking of personal and professional, and presenting those in an engaging way to captivate the listener, was something we focused on a lot and something that I had never focused on before. Hearing the different reactions to a personal pitch or LinkedIn profile made me more aware of how my actions/words are perceived by others, which is something I will take with me for future presentations.
